Arizona Muslims Saddened By Yom Kippur Attack, Share Condolences With Our Jewish Community Members10/10/2019 (PHOENIX, AZ 10/09/19) – The Arizona Muslim Alliance deplores the Yom Kippur attack on the Halle Street Synagogue in Halle Germany on October 9, 2019. A heavily armed gunman tried to enter the synagogue as Jews were celebrating Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, but were thwarted by locked doors. The gunman shot and killed two bystanders and wounded two others. The Arizona Muslim Community stands united with our Jewish brothers and sisters in condemning these senseless acts of violence. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.
“Together, the Arizona Muslim community mourns alongside our Jewish brothers and sisters – who were senselessly targeted,” said Kristy Sabbah, AMA Chairperson. “Our houses of worship should be spaces that are free from violence, where we are free to worship without fear of being attacked. We stand in solidarity to all those who were targeted in this heinous attack.” -Arizona Muslim Alliance (AMA) is a single platform bridging the entire Muslim community for unified voice and unified action for better serving the Muslim community, as well as our fellow Arizonans.
